During an uncomfortable and uncertain time for our county I have tried to makes some sense of it through the actions of a miraculously strong community. For the past 500 years Native Americans have experienced relentless oppression and brutality, yet they have proven themselves to be among the most capable grass roots organizers in modern history. In a couple of days we will have a new president in office presiding over the Army Corps of Engineers, the Justice Department, and the Department of the Interior. The Trump administration has pledged to dismantle the EPA, target native reservations for their oil and gas reserves, and push numerous new pipelines. Our support and energy is needed now more than ever.
A huge thank you everyone who allowed me to photograph them and hear their stories. View my project here and click the arrow at the end of the introduction page.
